This is a beautiful piece of translucent "Donut" pendant, carved in a perfect circle, this jadeite carving is popularly referred to as a jade donut because of its round shape which is hollowed out in the middle. The jade material has an intense orange hue by both side of the ring-shaped torus and this translate into a unique pattern on the donut.
The bail is designed and set in 18k gold Ginkgo Leaf shaped which symbolizes harmony and longevity. Its leaves are fan-shaped and symmetrical, implying the harmony of yin and yang, and also implying the harmonious characteristics of the unity of opposites and unity of all things. The shape of ginkgo can also be regarded as the shape of a heart, so some people also compare it to love, and hope to give heartfelt blessings to two people who love each other.
