This jade pendant features an intricately carved crab pincer. The jadeite used in this piece boasts high translucency, which significantly enhances the icy, faint lavender hue of the material.
Completely natural and classified as Type A, the jadeite crab pincer carving is elegantly paired with 18K white gold, which beautifully complements the jade's icy aesthetic. The pendant hook, crafted from 18K white gold, is adorned with natural diamonds for added sophistication.
Symbolism of crab pincer carving in Jade:
1. Attracting Wealth and Fortune "八方来财， 丛横天下”
The term for "crab claw" (qian) sounds the same as "money" (qian). With their powerful and tenacious grip, crab claws symbolize the ability to secure unexpected wealth and draw prosperity from all directions, ensuring that riches are firmly held and do not slip away.
2. Seizing Opportunities “稳抓机遇，牢抓好运”
Crab claws embody strength and mastery, representing the wearer's capability to seize good fortune, beneficial connections, and career opportunities.
3. Resolving Difficulties “化解烦恼，解困逢生”
The word for "crab" (xie) is a homophone for "resolve" or "untie" (jie). In traditional culture, it signifies the ability to dispel worries and overcome challenges, paving the way for new opportunities, reducing stress, and warding off negative influences.
4. Passing the Exam and Making the Honor Roll “考试登科，金榜题名”
Jade carvings that depict crabs and crab claws often represent "topping the list" or "ranking first“（一甲一名). These make wonderful gifts for students preparing for significant examinations.
