The reason is cylindrical bangle shape is best showcasing the color and good translucency of a high premium jadeite and thus often a collection or heirloom property. When worn on the wrist, it shows the gentle temperament of a woman.

It is the most favorite and popular bangle with almost 80%-90% of the bangles around the market are in this cut. The advantages of this bangle is it is versatile, any jade species and color can be carved into this shape. It's makes for a more comfortable fit as the beveling is done on the inner side of the bangle having a flat straight lines provides a cleaner silhouette and appeals to more modern fit for an otherwise traditional form of jewelry.

- Oval shape "蛋镯" or “贵妃镯”. As the name implies the shape of this bangle is characterized by the ovular structure with flat inner beveled. The oval shape is great for those with a slimmer oval shaped wrist as it will fit nicely to the wrist and is comfortable to wear. However, for people with bigger bone structure at the knuckle and rounded wrist, it is not advisable to purchase this shape as it can be very difficult to put on the right size.
